The Texas Book Festival invites you to their third annual Literary Libations week, which will take place Sunday, August 12 through Wednesday, August 15, 2018. This year, TBF is partnering with Austin Film Society, American Short Fiction, and Chicon Street Poets to bring Austin book lovers three unique literary events around the city:
- Sunday, August 12: Come for Algonquin-themed cocktails, a book-swap, and a special screening of The Cocoanuts at Austin Film Society (6406 N I-35 Suite 3100 Austin, TX 78752). Stay for the film and use discount code TBFAUG to receive $2 off the film screening ticket. The book-swap is free to attend and donations will be collected during the swap to benefit Lit Crawl Austin. The party starts at 2 p.m. and the film starts at 3 p.m.
- Tuesday, August 14: American Short Fiction, an Austin-based literary magazine and longtime Lit Crawl supporter, brings an exciting literary arts program for all ages to local bar and ice cream parlor Prohibition Creamery (1407 E 7th St, Austin, TX 78702), featuring some of Austin’s many creative and passionate writers. Literary drinks and ice cream will be available for purchase to benefit Lit Crawl Austin. The event is free and open to the public. The party starts at 5:30 p.m. and the program runs from 6 to 7 p.m.
- Wednesday, August 15: Chicon Street Poets, “Where Dive and Verse Come Together,” will showcase a group of local written and spoken-word poets connecting guests with the power, emotion, and art of poetry at Stay Gold (1910 E Cesar Chavez, Austin, TX 78702). Literary-themed cocktails will be available for purchase to benefit Lit Crawl Austin. The event is free and open to people 21 years of age and older. The party starts at 5:30 p.m. and the program runs from 6 to 7 p.m.
