Grab your apron, superhero cape or lab coat! Idea Lab Kids is offering 104 new summer camps at six locations across Houston.
Idea Lab offers enrichment camps for students in first to twelfth grades blending math, science, technology, engineering with art and social studies. This way each camp helps kids become more skilled, well-rounded and inspired to create. Each camp stands alone and students learn alongside others their own age range.
Coding and Technology Camps
What does the future look like? Whatever you can imagine at IDEA Lab Kids camps.
Learn to code, design for 3D printers, create a YouTube channel, craft spy gadgets or build LEGO robots at hands-on technology camps.
Each camp focuses on a technical skill – with lots of fun and creativity thrown in!
Calling all Jedi! Discover how Jedis fuel, train and maintain their bodies. Plus, conduct some otherworldly science experiments.
Meanwhile, wizards can explore science with potions, “spells” and figuring out what real and what is wizardry.
Other options include Solar Scientists, Super Secret Spy School and Time Travelers: Age of the Dinosaurs.
Engineering and Math Camps
Students can train their brains at IDEA Lab Kids’ genius workshop, where they challenge themselves with games, mathematical art and puzzles.
On another day, campers can head over to superhero camp, choose their side and design their hero or villain gadgets.
Later, kids can discover 3D printing with drones, designing with Arduino circuit kits, or coding with dash robots.
Students can bake their way through fairy tales at hands-on storybook cooking camp.
Or girls can explore events, culture – and fashion – through the ages with an American Girl doll camp.
Plus, kids can star in a music video or they can explore stop-motion animation filming or the editing, production and filming skills needed behind the camera.
About IDEA Lab Kids
Idea Lab Kids offers locations in the Woodlands, Missouri City, Energy Corridor, Heights and Central Houston areas.
Ghazal Qureshi founded IDEA Lab Kids (IDEA stands for Innovate, Discover, Explore, Achieve) in 2011 so her children could have enriching summer and after-school experiences that fit her schedule. She started in a rented space with 11 camps. Demand helped the program expand to other areas of Houston. Now franchises have popped up across the U.S., Canada, India and Oman, and other locations are pending worldwide.
