Hoopment is a moving meditation practice, where we allow mini-hoops to guide our bodies to move through space; stretching our bodies while we increase core strength and stability, while serving as "training-wheels" for ergonomic movement.
Exploring Movement Through Hoopment is a weekly community event, that is free for all, every Thursday, from 1-2 pm; at the Sol Healing & Wellness Center in NE Austin, in the Luna Studio.
Provided are 32 mini-hoops in 4 different diameters; each lead our bodies to move in different ways.
After a 10-15 minute guided warm-up, you are encouraged to explore your space; mindfully, yet thoughtlessly--observing how the hoops "prefer" to move, while being mindful of how our bodies are feeling as we move, rather than thinking about "how" to move the hoops.
Hoopment may be practiced in most places, at most times, by many different types of bodies; plus it's fun, so it doesn't feel like exercise.
Kids 12+ are welcome, with accompanying guardian!
