Prosit! Come join Orf Brewing on Saturday, June 10th, as we celebrate Reinheitsgebot Day! For those of you unfamiliar with the holiday, it was first celebrated a couple decades ago when a New York City advertising agency (where Orf happened to work) and one of their creative freelancers (namely, Orf) realized that June needed a decent holiday of its own to bridge the gap between May 5th and July 4th. It was decided that the purpose of the holiday would be to drink good beer and be festive. The holiday name was taken from the Bavarian “beer purity” law of 1516, known as Reinheitsgebot. The law is mostly about regulating beer prices and stabilizing grain supplies for bakers, and not so much about keeping beer “pure,” but none of that is important right now. What is important is beer. And having a festive holiday in June. So come join us at Orf Brewing for our next open house on June 10th as we celebrate in the traditional manner by drinking good beer, singing “Ein Prosit” way too much, and staying festive! Mach’s gut!
