$10 ADV / $15 DAY OF SHOW 18+ ($3 charge under 21) 9:30PM Doors 10:00PM Show Tickets: http://bit.ly/2neZe1K The Deer will be doing one full set of their original transcendental Texas folk, followed by a performance of Portishead's debut album, "Dummy", in its entirety. Get ready for a night of 90's trip-hop, mixed with some 21st Century psychadelic folk. In 1994, regarding "Dummy", Rolling Stone, opined, "From tape loops and live strings, Fender Rhodes riffing and angelic singing, these English subversives construct tres hip Gothic hip-hop... Assertive rhythms and quirky production, however, save Portishead from languishing in any cosy retro groove. Instead they manage yet another - very smart - rebirth of cool." The Deer encompasses the innovation of the modern indie-folk revival and the cross-pollination of Austin's diverse music scene. Described as transcendental Texas folk and stargaze surf-western, The Deer creates psychotropic soundscapes and tranquil, vivid dream-pop. In 2016's release, Tempest & Rapture, The Deer marry their brand of moody Americana with rapturous psychedelia, like two wings of one soaring bird. Their music is like a beacon in the dark wilderness: shining of pure melodies, vivid images, and strong musicianship in a world of vapid ditties.
