Stateside at the Paramount presentsSam Baker Doors @ 7pm | Show @ 8pm Tickets: $22 - $32 Come enjoy an evening with Sam Baker, one full of stories and songs from his current take on the world. The show will feature songs from his new upcoming CD The Land of Doubt. He writes, "the sunken city rises in this land of drought, the border is restless in this land of doubt." Sam tells his stories with wit and straight forward lyrics, with narratives ranging from marginalized people to his humorous stance of where we are in this world. From touching songs to hysterical rhetoric the evening will cover a large vista from his perspective. "Life is a gift," Baker says. "Gratitude for what remains is more helpful than resentment for what was lost. Ultimately, I came to understand that these days are wicked short and terribly beautiful. All I've got is this one breath, and if I'm lucky, I get another." Baker captivated me. His songs are closely observed narratives of eccentric and marginalized people finding meaning in seemingly defeated lives-almost like Leonard Cohen's, if Cohen had been a Baptist raised in West Texas Marc Eisen ~ The Daily Page Event Parking Information Secure covered parking is offered to patrons at the One American Center parking garage.
