Our Unamerica

Sponsored in part by a grant from the City of Austin's Cultural Art Division, the project Our Unamerica will be taking place in April at CRAFT. Those interested in participating are invited to stop by Wednesday evenings anytime between 5pm-7pm. Persons are welcome to attend just one or all sessions, and to bring any personal creative projects they may be working on to receive free professional assistance. This project is for adults only. Unamerica is a shape created by Austin based artist Veronica Ceci which references America, but has been slightly altered to fit back into itself like a puzzle piece. Participants are asked to decorate one shape on both sides, one side with what they are pleased with in our country, the other with what they find most troublesome. Individual shapes will be added to the shapes of others to create a crowd sourced installation artwork. The artist will be present to assist in image making and instruct in new techniques as appropriate to individual pieces. The resulting artwork will be displayed at CRAFT as it is created during the month of April, and will be traveling to different art venues around the United States. In addition to the open sessions at CRAFT, Ceci is happy to bring the project to your community group. More information is available at www.flashcollective.com
