Concert - David Small, baritone & Friends!

You are invited to a concert on April 2, 2017 at 3:00 pm featuring song and opera repertoire presented by Professors David Small, baritone, and Tamara Sanikidze, piano, of The University of Texas Butler School of Music; Dave Scott, trumpet, Professor of McNeese State University; and UT Opera graduate students Maria Cook, soprano, Abigail Jackson, soprano, and Stephanie Doche, mezzo-soprano. Works presented will include two song cycles, 'An die ferne Geliebte' by Beethoven, and Eric Ewazen’s cycle '…to cast a shadow again.' Also included are the duet, 'Mein Freund ist mein,' from Bach cantata Wachet Auf, ruft uns die Stimme (BWV 140) and opera duets by Donizetti and Rossini. The concert is sponsored by the Austin Alumnae chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota and is a benefit for the Carol Boyer Moody Scholarship Fund. It will be held in the sanctuary of Central Presbyterian Church which is located at 200 East 8th Street. Free parking is available in the lot behind the church on 9th Street between Brazos and San Jacinto Streets.
