Eight consecutive Saturdays dedicated to bringing the light of creativity to stimulate and harmonize the chakra system. We will paint chakra mandalas for each of the seven main chakras of the body, and have an integrative summary practice on the last Saturday. Chakra mandala painting will be approached as a meditative practice using conscious intuitive process painting. We will integrate guided meditation, visualization and aromatherapy to support painting sessions toward depth and awareness. No experience is necessary in painting or in chakra knowledge, and all supplies are provided.
This painting playshop is for adults, and is held in an atmosphere of respect for individual expression and process. We ask that there be no critiques, comments or criticism about the artwork created during the playshop. Art Playshops provide a safe space for exploring creativity to support wellness.
Terri McGee is a creativity facilitator at Austin Art For Wellness. She creates and facilitates art playshops that offer adults a process oriented approach to painting. Similar to meditation, process painting provides the opportunity to discover depths of Being beyond behavior patterns of the mind, restoring holistic connectivity and harmony from within. Terri has explored the painting process as a way of cultivating intuition, conscious awareness and inner development since 2003. In 2012 she began designing integrative painting playshops to help others access the nurturing benefits of creativity. She studied inner development "evolutionaries" like Jean Houston, Craig Hamilton, Claire Zammit, and Katherine Woodward Thomas, as well as many others. She also trained in intuitive painting with Michelle Cassou, the author of "Life Paint and Passion" and "Point Zero, Creativity Without Limits".
