This is a charity golf event with live/silent auctions benefiting a variety of veterans and community projects. We have had a successful tournament for a number of years, made possible by generous sponsors/contributors. Last year we netted $38,560-an all-time high! This has allowed our Post to continue contributing to our projects. •It should be noted that since 2000 the Post has awarded $195,000 to 117 local high school scholarship recipients. •Since 2011, based on the generous contributions received from the greater Austin-area community, the Post has also awarded $36,300 in scholarships, along with employment assistance to many local veterans. We have made it known to our local community that we stand ready to support our veterans in need. The Post is looking for business leaders and other benefactors within the community to help sponsor and/or donate to this charity event at the following levels: •Corporate$1,500Includes a team in the tournament •Platinum $1,000Includes a team in the tournament •Gold$ 500 •Silver$ 300 •Bronze $ 100 The Post also needs help with the contribution of items for “goodies” bags, door prizes, and the live/silent auction, e.g. gift certificates or cards, golf equipment, recreational equipment etc. or any in-kind contribution (cash and/or other). The tournament has grown into a popular affair with lots of food, prizes and great fun for the players and will follow along the same format as last year. It will be played on the Original Course at the Onion Creek Club. Registration begins at 7:00 am with a shotgun start at 8:30 am. The format will be a 4-person scramble. We will continue to promote our Game of Chance and the Las Vegas Golf Option (Dice Game). There may also be some other surprises so stay tuned. We will award cash prizes for team and individual contests. We are also limiting the field to 132 players and will continue to reserve 12 team positions for our Corporate/Platinum sponsors. We will also recognize any business sponsoring a team. Please encourage your family and friends to sign-up quickly before all the slots are taken! We expect all positions to be filled by mid-April. The entry fee includes a light breakfast, luncheon and beverages, “goodies bag”, cart and green fees, use of practice facilities, door prizes and the post tournament program. There will be prizes for a hole-in-one on any par 3 and a car for a hole-in-one on the main prize hole. We have had three hole-in-one winners over the years. We will also have cash prizes for both teams and individual contests including closest to the pin on all par 3s and longest drives and longest putt (men and women of different age groups). Prizes will be awarded after the luncheon in the Onion Creek Club main dining room. This charity event will also include a silent auction which will be open to the public from 7:00 am to 2:45 pm. The Post will auction many donated items from local businesses with great $avings. The live auction will be conducted from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm.
