Tickets for the full evening are $15 and come with a physical copy of the new album. The event will also raise funds for and bring awareness to the Restore Honor Ride -an organization working to bring attention and funding to veterans who lost their benefits after being dishonorably discharged for being gay. In the spirit of sharing, Alyse will donate a large portion of merchandise sales and all of the ticket sales to the Restore Honor Ride organization. Sammie Zonana (recently on The Voice) will open the night at 6:30pm. Alyse will be followed by Nomad City at 10:00pm. Fair City Fire will close the evening. Alyse Black recorded her third full-length album with producer Eric Rosse (Sara Barielles, Mary Lambert, Tori Amos), drummer Matt Chamberlain (Fiona Apple, Sarah McLachlan, Dido), and bassist Mark Browne (Patty Griffin, Emmylou Harris, Jewel). The album was fan-funded with a $31,000 Kickstarter. Alyse has come a long way from her humble beginnings when she was belting out Billie Holiday tunes acapella on the streets of Pike Place Market in Seattle for pocket change. Since then, Alyse has performed on NPR, recorded a commercial for Target, moved to Austin, won Billboard's Annual Songwriting Contest, had several songs placed in movies and TV shows, received an endorsement deal with Fishman Amps, won The Recording Conservatory of Austin’s Top Singer-Songwriter Contest, and toured the country playing over 850 clubs, theaters, festivals, television shows and radio stations. The Restore Honor Ride is a 3,500 mile bicycle ride from Santa Monica, California to Washington D.C. The purpose of the Restore Honor Ride is to recognize and honor the hundreds of thousands of patriotic Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Veterans who suffered discrimination while in the military, and had to hide who they were in order to serve their country. The Restore Honor Ride organization provides creative venues for healing, to include writing or sharing their stories, and publishing their works through Restore Honor Press and the Restore Honor podcast. They also work with other agencies that provide healing workshops.
