CD Release show!! Special Guest: Larry Seaman You may know her as the back-up singer for folks like Matt the Electrician, Lee Barber, Jaimee Harris, Scrappy Jud Newcomb, Daniel Thomas Phipps… You may know her from the Purgatory Players Gospel Brunch shows at Strange Brew. Or you may know her as the wife of darling-Austin-drummer Jon Greene. Born to exhausted Indian immigrants on a mild, summer eve, Seela had an average childhood battling the forces of evil with her superhuman strength. On quality meals of Supertramp, Led Zeppelin, Fozy Bear, & U2, she flourished in nerdy-ness, topping off @ 5’3?. Seela began performing original songs at legendary open mics like the Cactus Cafe and the now long gone Chicago House in the 90’s. Simultaneously she got a foothold in the Austin jazz scene as part of the Jazz Pharaohs, The Brannen Temple Group, and eventually her own band, TOrcH. Her most current work, the new album Track You Down is a gospel-soaked collection of love songs. Co-produced by guitarist/whiz-kid Anthony da Costa and featuring Austin heavies like Kevin Lovejoy, Scrappy Jud Newcomb, and Jeff Plankenhorn Track You Down is a sonically solid and honest offering from nose to tail. www.iamseela.com
